for a few weeks now my wife and I have been amused by a curious trio of ducks down by the lake at Yarralumla just west of the rowing shed complex.  A male and female Wood duck are accompanied by a faithful Grey Teal.  Where they go he (or she) goes – or perhaps its the other way around!  The first time we saw them it seemed that there was a little animosity within the group but now everything seems to have settled down nicely.

Interestingly the Teal seems to have adopted their feeding habits and can be seen nibbling grass by the lake shore on most occasions.  Rarely are they in the water.
