About 1978 we had a wild wind storm in Canberra. Horrible weather, gale force
winds. I was living in Wybalena Grove at the time. The car ports there are
grouped separately from the houses, with pitched, tiled roofs. I had parked my
car, and on getting out, noticed 4 Magpies sitting up in the carport rafters,
well out of the wind. They looked a bit sheepish, but didn't move. Very smart
birds.
