Beautiful sunny crisp morning for the survey today. Highlights were a group of 15 King Parrots feeding on the ground near quarry fence, three mixed feeding flocks, one of which included five Varied Sitellas, and another which included two Speckled Warblers, and the roosting Sulphur-crested Cockatoos not far from the entrance - I counted 209 of them still warming up in the early morning sun before heading out for the day. There were good numbers of Yellow-rumped, Striated and Buff-Rumped Thornbills around, and seven Scarlet Robins. A number of the Galahs and Rainbow Lorikeets were inspecting nest hollows. 41 species for the morning, but no raptors.
