A thorough search this morning failed to reveal the Girralang Australian
Bittern. It didn't appear that several others had any more success although I
was distant from them much of the time. They had reportedly search the adjacent
McKellar pond (ponds?) as well. I searched from the government land to the
south, to well past the road bridge to the north, and am wet from the thighs
down as a result of pushing through thigh deep wet grass. Very few birds at all
actually. Very quiet.

John
