We returned from a trip to Grenfell and the Weddin Mountains. on Thursday. We
were very excited to see a Rose Robin, high in a tree at Dick's Bridge. Are
they often seen? Those who go often to the Weddin Mountains probably know that
the best bird watching site is along the old road into the camp ground. It
runs east -west between farm land and the forest. We saw Red Capped, Flame and
Hooded robins and jacky winters. Also a flock of about six Olive Backed
Orioles, flying above the track in a westerly direction
While we were having lunch, Pied Butcher birds were interacting with Ravens,
near the entrance to Seaton's farm. Not much along the road into Holy Camp, or
at Holy Camp, more Pied Butcher birds than we usually see, and a couple of
Dusky Wood swallows. Of course apostle birds were foraging in many places as
well as choughs
