There were a pair of Spotted Doves in ANBG in early April.
Self to volunteer guide: “There’s a pair of Spotted Doves around. Looks like they might be nesting.”
Volunteer guide: “Oh, good. It’s always nice to have a nest to point out to visitors.”

There are no COG records of Spotted Dove in the Botanic Gardens as of last year. They have been recorded in the Garden Bird Survey fairly often in nearby Turner since 2010, including some breeding (dependant young).

The Bell Miner was still at Casuarina Sands this morning at 9am. It could be heard immediately upon arrival and was in a tree at the very end of the parking area next to the information sign. Thank you for the posting, Roger.
Also this morning, there was no sign of the Lewin's Honeyeater at the Botanic Gardens but there were 3 Spotted Doves in Section 79 and I observed what seemed to be numerous (hopefully unsuccessful) attempts at mating. Have they been recorded in the Botanic Gardens previously?
