One or sometimes a pair of Peregrine Falcons have regularly been observed over that part of the city.

Subject: [canberrabirds] City Falcon
Sitting on the Murray's bus parked in Jolimont, just saw a medium sized, dark falcon fly over heading for the ANU. It wasn't a kestrel, my best guess is Peregrine. People at ANU or in the city may want to keep an eye out!!
