Is certainly a southern whiteface. I wonder how thoughts of a young yellow rumped thornbill arise.
 
I recall Dick Schodde giving a BOM talk to COG about these critters, years ago. He said the southern whiteface is a BIG bird. Someone from the back of the hall said something like I thought these are all little birds, an eagle is a a BIG bird. Dick's reply was something like "yes for a little bird (or among thornbills), the southern whiteface is a BIG bird."
