Pacific Heron at Jerrabomberra Wetlands

There were 3 White-necked Heron (I still know them as Pacific Heron) in the long grass at Jerrabomberra Wetlands Reserve this morning, amongst the black cows.  Looked like 2 adults and 1 immature (it was more mottled grey on the neck).

 

At least 4 White-faced Heron were nearby. Reminded me that we used to call them non-specific heron (a word play derived from non-Pacific heron - say it quickly).
