Within 50m of the entry carpark for Shepherds Lookout this morning were three
Diamond Firetail. (09.25)
I took them to be juveniles. The 'firetails' were distinct. There was strong
evidence of the 'diamonds' but these were surrounded by brown feathers and the
black-bands were brown also.
Two flew down from fence-wire perching into the rank grass but mostly they were
unconcernedly foraging on the ground in a washaway and amongst any shorter
grass they could find.
And on the White-Throated Treecreeper (WTTC) "debate". During each of recent
(3-4weeks )visits to Strathnairn and environs I have heard WTTCs.
