Toss up between Fan-tailed & Brush Cuckoo. A back view helps more than a front view but I suggest the former because the front is untidy mottled, rather than more clearly barred, there is no sign of bars around the upper wrist and the tail shape suggests long to match Fan-tailed. Doesn't help that HANZAB & Pizzey pictures give opposite information about difference in the extent of barring on the tail.

We were camping at Mystery Bay (near Bermagui) when I photographed this young cuckoo.  Can anyone tell me which cuckoo it is, please?
