Hazard reduction burns today??!!

On a day when the predicted maximum temperature is 37 degrees and the bush and grasslands seem rather dry, there appear to be hazard reduction burns underway in Belconnen, O’Connor and Gilmour. While I have no experience in running controlled burns this seems a bit on the hazardous side.
