PS
Again I sincerely apologise for intruding beyond your sign.
Some background.
Last Thurs arvo I went to Bittern & Ardea hides; @ c. 5.30 + a group of travelling musicians had set up and were inhabiting their `kitchen’ in Ardea hide; c. 5 European young men, evidently musos, judging by their dress; one was preparing their meal on the bench/shelf beside their cook-top, ready for cooking, the others sat cosily in the background; they were quiet when I was there with binocs; they were travelling in a large van/truck parked out side; presumably might have decided to sleep on site ..
No luck with p snipe.
On Sat arvo c. 2.30 I returned; I had just lined up nice views of a p snipe browsing in grasses fairly close to Ardea when a huge raucous rollicking youth entered laughing & dancing about; he appeared to be quite literally a bit mad. He lay down chortling on the bench where he continued noisy till his minder appeared and after some loud argument, led him away.
Of course, the snipe had long gone after this disturbance. It was then, frustrated, that I ventured around the cnr and past your sign, so thoughtfully placed.
The hides are thus not always the best places they are intended to be for patient observation.
Regards
Suzanne Edgar
