Subject: Little Lorikeet in Duffy
Hi Chris and Joe Very pleased about a great sighting of a Little Lorikeet in
Duffy this morning. Flowering iron bark that has been attracting flying
foxes appears to be the cause but had great looks at the bird perched on a
power line. Wondered about aviary escapee but pretty unlikely I suspect.
Hard to say but thought I heard more before getting binocs on to the one I
saw well. Red frons and forecheeks formed one block of red. Hind neck and
upper back brownish olive; primaries with pals yellowish edge to otherwise
black outer vanes; tertials with beige-buff outer vanes. Otherwise green
with black bill and call just like a fig parrot.
