I'd say 'normal' or typical, Jude.

The PK app (Pizzey & Knight Birds of Australia digital edition) renders the typical call as 'clear, descending "tseeeeuw", often kicks up at the end', and the second recording of the call (from Broke NSW) is just that.

Horsfield's Bronze-Cuckoo began calling at Currawang on Friday morning. (Photos may follow if ever I edit them). I didn't recognise him at first, however, because he was using someone else's translation.

'Peeyoooooooooooooooo' on a descending note several times then a little 'I don't think so!'

Has he been overseas and learned a new language, or is this part of his normal verbalization I've just never heard before?
