And still there this morning. Two adults busily nest building or nest refurbishing, in casuarina at bottom of the steepish bit of track not far from entry to reserve itself. They were collecting nesting materials and flying in regularly. Another bird calling further along the track. Plenty of mistletoebirds, trillers, WB and dusky woodswallows, including newly fledged dependent young, and several bee-eaters. We walked as far as a very boggy section of the track, but the painted honeyeaters are right at the start!

I may finally have an opportunity to head out there this weekend.
Cheers Marnix I revisited Stoney Creek this afternoon and this time saw the Painted Honeyeaters, On this occasion there was at least one bird in a large eucalypt just at the top of the bank beside the second gate as well as one on nest and another in the casuarina.
Also many (50+ of each) White-browed and Dusky Woodswallows, a few Masked Woodswallows 1 Rainbow Beeaeter, a cuple of Trillers, ditto Double-barred Finch, several Rufous Songlarks. An excellent 30+ minutes.
