Subject: [canberrabirds] Little Friarbird - Tuggeranong
I stepped out of the car this morning at my work car park and was greeted with the distinct liquid call if a Little Friarbird. The bird was instantly found perched in a nearby eucalypt overlooking the lake.
As I watched the resident wattlebirds and white-plumed honeyeaters harassed it but it gave as good as it got seeing off both species.
The bird was last seen perched in the same eucalypt along the lakeshore between 186 Reed St and Tuggeranong Weir.
Are there any previous records for this species in Tuggeranong?
Cheers
Marnix
