There is a light pole on Melbourne Av right at the top adjacent to the Latrobe Park Scout Hall.  As I walked past it this evening, there appeared to be two cockatoos fighting over the rights to destroy the sensor gadget (whatever they are) connected to the top of the light.

A quick inspection through my binoculars identified the birds as Long-billed Corellas.  I have seen the occasional LBC, or a hybrid bird, with Little Corellas or SCCs, but I think this is the first time I have seen a pair of LBCs locally and on their own.  I suppose it is possible that they are nesting in the area.
