Laura  -  I have your wattlebird project in mind.  In the last 2 weeks I have found 2 dead wattlebird nestlings (fledgling stage) in the little Rocky Knob park  -  probably from nests on opposite sides of the hill.  Dogs are good for finding them

I think the Rocky Knob one is the same this time – though not necessarily in previous years.  My first birds this morning were (1) Koel (heard – 0630); (2) 12 inquisitive peafowl (3) magpie on nature strip with DY; (4) 3 wattlebirds indicating location of koel; (5) P Currawong evicting koel (seen) from tree.

Hi COG-ers,

Just wondering if anybody has seen or heard the Griffith koel in the past week? Around the shops/Favenc circle?

Cheers,

Laura

PS. The Melba koel is still hanging around, I heard him calling this morning on Alfred Hill Drive, between Le Galienne st. and Bishop pl.
