It is the Yellow Rosella, which is the common subspecies (flaveolus, of Crimson Rosella and replaces it)  in the riverina region. Green Rosella is another species that is in Tasmania. I wonder what books you looked at and it is curious that you should find Green Rosella and not make the match to Yellow Rosella. And they are great pictures.

I was in Narrandera in the Riverina in the last couple of days & took many bird pictures but the only one I cannot decide is this little parrot or rosella.  All I can come up with in my books is a green Rosella but they are only found in Tarmania, could someone please help me.

PS Not perfect pictures, in a river Gum forest, early morning so light was poor!
