And was this not this a big day for Yellow-faced Honeyeaters!  They were everywhere, beginning in the back-yard, then in the street trees and all about the local reserves during the morning dog-walk.  But at the Bot Gardens they were in everything from low shrubs to tree-tops.  But the shrub that was really thick with them was one of those starburst grevilleas, shiressii, I think, confirming itself again as a prime attractor for nectar feeders
