Hi all

I was at Dickson wetland this morning and was told by a family party that they had been told there was a rare Cormorant on the north side of the island. They had been told this by a person with a big camera who was still watching it or for it. I had seen a big cormorant from afar as I approached, but only the black back of it.

By the time I had exhausted my dog on the playing fields and could get on the north side of the lake, the photographer had disappeared as had any Cormorant.

I took some photos of the Grebe and Hardhead. And then a Little Black Cormorant turned up after a while. Not rare, though usually there is a Little Pied Cormorant around.

So ... was it a Pied Cormorant that was there earlier?

Just curious.

Thanks,

Susanne
