I Went bird watching this morning. Hoping for some spring birds. Full cloud, some rain, wind- 2.

-CSIRO Campbell- 2ha 20 min.
9 species, King parrots, lots of noisy miners crimson (including dy) and eastern rosellas.
Grevilleas in red, green and yellow. Plougshare wattles still all in flower. Some yellow box in flower.

-Campbell suburb backtrack/Mt Ainslie- 500m 20 minute transect. Scribbly gum/brittle gum forest with mainly red anthered wallaby grass (Joycea pallida) understory.
18 species. 1 grey butcherbird, 7 yellow faced honeyeaters heading North.  1 striated pardalote. 2 WWC, 1 rufous and 1 golden whistler. 5 silvereyes, 1 noisy friarbird and 1 treecreeper.
Not many plants in flower.

-Mt Ainslie summit Rd: On the corner of Mt Ainslie summit Rd and Fairburn avenue. A spot not many people visit, yellow box red gum and applebox woodland, reminiscent of Campbell Park, but with a mainly  introduced grass understory. 2ha 20 minute search.
18 species. Kookaburra with Ny. Olive backed oriole, 1 BFCS, 5 grey fantails, 2 spotted pardalote, 1 butcherbird. 2 Noisy friarbirds, 1 red wattlebird.
Right near the summit Rd there was a cute little patch with grassy understory including Early Nancy (Wurmbea dioeca), Creamy candles (Stackhousia monogyna), Bulbine lillies (Bulbine bulbosa) and I think the paper daisy Helichryusim albicans.

Although I didnt get the spring arrivals I was hoping for ie WTG etc, I still got a few and lots of birds in a not often reported from area.
