This same combination of Superbs and the elm flowers was happening at the Hawker Soccer synthetic turf oval on Sunday afternoon about 16.00hrs.

The elms are fruiting around town and the parrots are enjoying them. especially the Superb Parrots. I saw two pairs of Superbs eating quietly in an elm outside ABS House in Benjamin Way in Belconnen at lunchtime and about 8 Superbs in some elms in Giralang. In Giralang they were joined by Crimson Rosellas, Eastern Rosellas and Red-rumps. In previous years I have seen flocks of about 50 Superb Parrots in Benjamin Way. I didn't stay around long enough today to check all the trees for parrots.

The sex ratio looked about even, rather than male dominating, so they haven't started brooding yet.
