For the record (Jack’s record that is) at Callum Brae on Monday 2nd was a single Dusky Woodswallow. Also one Oriole and as expected and reported elsewhere, a surprisingly large number of BF Cuckoo-shrikes. Crested Pigeons are already sitting on a nest and Corellas of both kinds guarded 5 hollows that I saw. Between the Corellas and Starlings (which are still expanding a little further every year) it’s a wonder anything else can find hollows.
Today I noticed the unusual sight of 4 Brown Goshawks soaring together very high. Why would there be four together at this time of year?
