Hi all
We visited Jindalee National Park near Cootamundra this morning and despite
some recent rain did not see much. Although the acacia and shrubs were in
flower the ironbarks weren't.
The undoubtable highlight was a pair of Blue Bonnets on the western edge of the
park along the Cypress Trail. My first record this far east.
Other birds of interest included Superb Parrots, a Little Eagle and a single
Australian Shelduck by a dam across the road from the park.
On the drive out we passed a White-necked Heron near Binalong and saw small
flocks of migrating Noisy Friarbirds on two occasions.
We also stopped by at the Migurra Reserve near Bethungra but nothing of
interest to report.
All up an enjoyable half day.
Cheers
Marnix
