At the wetlands yesterday for one of Tim the Yowie Man’s little projects, the sharp-eyed Woo O’Reilly picked up the salmon legs of a dozen log-frequenting ducks which turned out to be shovelers, several males in bright colours.  This morning the cropped typha in front of Bittern provided a foraging patch for the BBR, while a Eurasian Blackbird, a prominent swamp-lover, perched on the brush fencing and reflected shrubs and sky in its curiously asymmetric eyeball
