Off the top of the head, my answers to those questions would be:
a) FROM: rainfall; overflow from Molonglo River, Jerrabomberra Creek, and Lake Burley Griffin; some surface and storm water from Fyshwick; small treated outflow from sewage works; watering by turf farm; urinating by stock. TO: evaporation; seepage; outflow via waterways mentioned; extraction by turf farm and sewage works; drinking by stock.
b) Water quality from Fyshwick will affect the wetlands. The management plan should provide for monitoring of this. The extent this is a problem will largely depend on controls.
c) The main reason for different retention rates in different ponds (apart from variable inflow) will be: depth of ponds; extent of outflow from ponds; structure of base of pond eg whether porous or relatively non-porous clay.
