For those who wish to see the detailed report, it is available here:

It is a 60 page pdf file, so do not download unless you are keen.
http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0004/470452/governance_review_game_council_nsw_independent_consulting.pdf

It is strong on the rationale for dismantling the Game Council. but probably does not include the answers to questions Martin has asked.
You can tell I have not yet read it all, myself.

I have asked my Local Member, Gareth Ward MLA, for advice on the 12 Parks where hunting will initially be allowed.

The Minister's Press Release is located at:
http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/resources/MinMedia/MinMedia13070401.pdf
Not a word about Shooting in National Parks.
It is all about "Pest Control" being the best in Australia (that's not hard).

Less bad news.

It is interesting that the Minister's Press Release doesn't say which 12 Parks are to be the crash-test dummies for this exercise.  Nor is there any information about what criteria are to assessed (or how) in deciding whether the test is a success or not.

The NSW Game Council has been disbanded & its functions transferred to the Dept of Primary Industries. All hunting on NSW State lands has been banned for at least 2 months. The hunting in NSW National  Parks policy is still in place, but the criteria for eligibility for hunters has be considerably changed. See http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-07-04/game-council-disbanded-but-volunteer-hunting-to-go-ahead/4800098
