I assume that now the pine trees of Uriarra/Blue Range and Pierces creek have now got to an age where they are producing cones again post 2003 fires, we will see large YTBC numbers on a regular basis again.

Between 7.15 and 7.23 this morning I counted 129 YTBCs fly from the Brindabellas across Uriarra Village towards the Murrumbidgee. I think I missed some. Of course I have no idea if they stop there or continue on to the city.  A month ago they emerged from the trees close to Blue Range Park. Now they come into view further to the north, closer to Uriarra Station.
