At my house I could hardly go a minute or more outside without seeing Satin Bowerbirds and for several years they have had a bower in my neighbour's yard. With a new one in the last few weeks or months. This year is I think the first that there has been two all blue birds present for at least several months. The odd thing is I do not see one. They are rarely out in the open. Almost invariably the two blue birds are together, or more to the point, the way I see them is one seen flying with the other flying within a metre behind. Whether this is friendship or aggression I don't know. Philip |
