An odd time too for a usual uncommon summer visitor but there have been many reported in odd places over the last few months. I wrote about observing many of them just south of Chiltern Victoria on easter Thursday.

While doing my GBS count this morning my attention was drawn to an Australian Raven harassing a large raptor.  Close examination of the raptor revealed a distinctive forked tail and the general jizz of a Black Kite.  The raven eventually succeeded in driving the kite away to the south.  This was the first such sighting in my 13 years at Jerrabomberra.
