A survey and clean-up of the 8 nest boxes at Kelly’s Swamp and 4 at the Billabongs over the last couple of days revealed a single egg, broken egg shells of three eggs and down in box # 8 on Kelly’s.  The Pacific Black Duck egg had been fertilized but with no chick development whilst it appears the remaining eggs hatched.  Please note that all boxes are now numbered.  Thanks to the Rangers, John and Michael, and to the Friends of Jerrabomberra Wetlands for completing this task.  Let us hope that, given some water, the ducks will really take to using the nest boxes this coming year.
