A mature White-bellied Sea eagle flew over Lake Ginninderra yesterday afternoon, raising a ruckus amongst the locals that disturbed our Mother's Day picnic. Also a Nankeen Night Heron in an unusually exposed roost on the willow-covered island near the Macdermott Place picnic area. Its companions were probably in their usual roost in the casuarinas just north of the island, but I was too busy eating home-made pumpkin pie to go and look.
