Back from a month overseas (unfortunately interrupted through a death in the family), I have resumed my GBS recording.
Today I was disappointed not to join the mid-week walk because I had a doctor’s appointment. But from a bird-watching viewpoint, I was hardly disappointed - over an hour within 50m of my home, I observed:
· Over 100 SCCs, the flock containing about 10 Little Corellas
· 30 or so Pied Currawongs, some doing high-altitude aerobatics
· 8 Galahs
· About 50 Red Wattlebirds migrating generally NNE
· A BFCS
· A White-eared HE
· A Golden Whistler (I think – a little doubtful about this ID)
· A pair of Scarlet Robins
· A pair of grey Fantails
· Several Spotted Pardalotes
· A Striated Pardalote
· A Brown Thornbill
· A couple of Yellow-rumped Thornbills
· A few Weebills
· About 15 Silvereyes
· 8 Superb Fairy-wrens
· A White-throated Scrub-wren
· Both Rosella species
· Magpies, Crested Pigeons, Rock Doves, an Australian Raven, a Starling etc etc
Who needs to leave home?!
