Oh, Wow! What a cool site. If Rob or anyone else would like to read further on the subject I can unequivocally recommend SONGBIRD JOURNEYS : Four seasons in the Lives of Migratory Birds. by Miyoko Chu. You won’t be disappointed!

Also, there’s a similar site for the Monarch Butterfly migrations with an equal Wow factor and, no doubt, Flutter as well J.

A friend in the USA just sent me the link to this site which shows migrating birds on weather radar. You can see them streaming into southern Texas. The blue blobs between Texas and the Great Lakes are the birds. The more colourful patterns are caused by the weather!
