I should have added that all early collectors found this species to be very edible, far better than Bustards and Common Bronzewings. I am surprised early mariners like Captain Cook did try a few to reduce scurvy and other diseases. I hear they are also very good for the heart and other bodily functions ...................................!!

Hi all  - This bird turned up in our yard this morning professing to be a fruity owl – rather cute but not listed in Simpson and Day.
