walked this track this morning, mainly to see the migrating yellow-faced honeyeaters, but managed close to 40 species for walk there and back. Most YFHEs (not as many as I'd expected) were travelling in small groups of half a dozen or so, but one large flock of approx.150 passed by.  Six (and possibly more) scarlet robins - including a pair at Pine Island and another pair at Point Hut. Several groups of half a dozen red wattlebirds flying over.  Dozens of red-browed finches, both at Pine Island and at Point Hut.  It's a great walk (fairly easy and around 2km each way) - and even better in spring when the grevilleas are in flower. Downsides were an unleashed (but friendly) dog which bounded up to me along the track, a long way in front of its owner, and the incredibly loud music emanating from a car in the PI carpark. But even that didn't seem to disturb the large flock of RB finches and yellow-rumped thornbills feeding in the grass just a few metres in front of them.
