Both Pied and Black Honeyeaters were around The Charcoal Tank Nature Reserve when we were banding out there several weeks ago and were banded in numbers at The Weddin Mountains site that is run by Richard Allen. Possibly this is the birds moving in relation to the drying of central Australia after several very good years with rain and subsequent breeding.

Published sightings for the week ending 24 Mar 2013.
Black Honeyeater Bartleys Block, Chiltern
Sensational views of a male hawking off dead branches at Bartleys Block in the early morning light. A great find, a little surprised to still see so late in the season.
