Yesterday morning the cool weather seemed to be the signal for many Pardalotes and Silverees to moving though our property in a vaguely eastern direction.

Later in the day I went for a drive around the Foxlow Loop.  Q corner seemed to be devoid of birds. There were very few waterbirds on Foxlow Lagoon and the few that were present were mainly Coots and small grebes.  (That meshes with a recent report of few birds on the Swamp on Hoskinstown Plain which has been so productive over Summer.)  Things picked up on the road towards Foxlow Bridge where a mixed Feeding Flock was in action on grass seed beside the verge.  Participants included:
Diamond Firetails 6+
Southern Whiteface 4+
Red-browed Finch 2+
Superb Fairy-wren
Grey Fantail 4+
Yellow-rumped thornbill

Back towards home at least two Scarlet Robins were calling this morning and two 'chipping Yellow-faced Honeyeaters headed East 'with purpose'.
