The good year for Freckled Duck continues - 13 at
the wetland on the western side of Lake Road (outside Bungendore) on Sunday
evening and 4 at West Belconnen Pond this morning. I do not have the COG records
for the last few months but, in the recent records I do have, the number of
reports and number of birds are high - Michael Lenz reported 890 on
Lake George in September 2012. On Eremaea, there are 113 records
of Freckled Duck in the ACT for the last 12 months (up to 40
birds) from the locations below and only 54 records for NSW (up to 278
birds).
