I have a little story about choughs and their quirky behavior.

Last Wednesday night, a group of white-winged choughs were fooling around on the side of the road in a street in Lyneham.  They had obviously decided their usual routine of rolling in a strangers garden was a little boring.  Now they would life life on the edge.  As a car came down the street, one half of the flock decided to sprint across the road.  All the choughs made it out in one piece.  Spurred on by their comrades bravery, the other half of the flock decided they would have a go too.  As the next car came, four or so choughs could be seen running as as fast as their little legs could take them.  The last of the choughs narrowly avoided a collision.
This was more or less a variation on the children's game "chicken."  It seems that a game of "chough" would be more appropriate.

Matt.
