Koel chick number 2 was both heard and seen again this morning near the park at the end of Hannaford St Page, with one Red Wattlebird. No adult koel seen or heard. And two days ago, koel chick no. 3, adult male koel and 2 Red Wattlebirds attending the chick were seen at the far eastern end of Hannaford St.  Koel chick no. 1 was last seen and heard before the 26 Jan storm – at which point it would have been at least 24 days old, so hopefully it is now far north. During the same period there have been at least four Red Wattlebird chicks in the immediate area – which may partly explain why it attracts the koels. b
