Subject: Roos, not birds

Last weekend I spent a birdless morning beside a dam on Callum Brae.  However, I was surrounded by roos going about their business, unaware of my presence.  I learnt something new  which is usually the case if I sit still long enough in one place.  The roos actually eat clay just the same way that sheep lick salt off the ground.  One girl stayed in the same spot with her nose in a hole for half an hour.  Before I left I had a closer look at a couple of the holes they had dug, and could see no sign of roots or anything like that.
