a highlight of last Saturday's COG outing (walk from Tuggeranong Wall
to Pine Island) was a flock of around 15 bee-eaters circling and
calling above the river. There were also a dozen or so at Tharwa
Sandwash on Thursday last week, hawking very successfully for some
large insects (the ones I saw in beaks looked to be some sort of wasp)
