This is a weedy tree and local government has stopped planting it. It has been found in the Aranda Bushland and the western side of Black Mountain to where the nearest source is Yarralumla. Also in the woodland near the Campbell Park Offices on the east side of Mt Ainsle where COG holds it's annual nest workshop, nearest source is Ainslie (Paterson St, Tyson St, and Sherbrooke St.). They are not scheduled for replacement anytime soon, unless there is public pressure to do so but will not be replanted when they cenesce.
 
It is listed in "Molonglo Catchment Weed Information Pack" as a  'weed to watch'
 
It is hard to pull out unless less than 30cm tall because the tap root is thick and deep.
