Around 8.30 this morning there were several hundred starlings on powerlines crossing Molongolo Reach and into Jerrabomberra Wetlands. A few minutes later many were flocking high over the wetlands in response to the appearance of  a raptor..(falcon?) and formed a mobbing swarm.

Attached poor snap (v. long distance, poor overcast light) gives an impression of the interesting encounter. The mobbing lasted several minutes and ended with the disappearance of the raptor. ..
