I think what is going on across the road is more a Universal Studios number, based upon the distributors of the movie pre-celebrated by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

He starts his ode to opium with "In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure dome decree".  I suspect that what runs into that part of Fyshwick is more like Alf (Alien Life Form) than Alph (the Sacred River).
