Late this afternoon I spotted my first Crake in my local stretch of Ginninderra Creek (below Giralang Pond). Unfortunately I got such a brief glimpse that I couldn't identify which species of Crake it was - I'm pretty sure it wasn't just a young Dusky Moorhen. I hope it shows itself again.
