Carwoola birding

I have been cowering from the heat and summarising the records a small group of residents of the Carwoola/Hoskinstown area have collected over the past year.  It may be of interest to some members of this group.

An early observation for 2013 is that  the adults of my Tawny Frogmouth family have turned up this morning without their offspring.  I am unsure of the mechanism involved (ie do they actively drive the chicks away or do the parents quietly sneak away while the chicks are monstering skinks at an extremity of the range?) but the timing is consistent with past seasons.
